Louisa Grace is one month old

Dear Louisa,

You are one month old! It has been the most beautiful and exciting month of mine and your daddy's lives!

You were a tiny poppet when you were born. Despite nursing like a champion it took a little time for you to regain your birth weight. You had daddy and I worried!

You have regained the weight now and I am so glad that we have continued to exclusively breast feed you. You feed 7 or 8 times a day, generally every 3 to 4 hours ( except for the evening fussy period where you eat every 2 hours).

You are still in newborn disposable nappies. As soon as you are big enough we will transition into cloth.





Louisa you are an arm Houdini! No matter how we swaddle you, you manage to get an arm out to stretch, suck or rest on. You were born with an adorable little blister on your hand from sucking, and that pastime has continued! We try to swap in a pacifier to save your beautiful hands.






You are a wise and alert little soul. You pull some funny faces that give daddy and I a flash of your teenage years!




We have had daddy home with us this month. We have both loved this extra special time with him and were so sad when he went to work yesterday.

During this month we have had lots of special family outings. We went to the movies! We went to a special mums and bubs (and daddies!) session of 'What to expect when you're expecting.' You were very well behaved and slept soundly, despite it being very loud! I woke you up to feed and you went straight back to sleep.



We also went to Starbucks! You were not impressed that daddy wouldn't let you have a babychino.




You love cuddles with daddy and are quite the daddy's girl! He gives you a bottle of expressed milk at bedtime.



Louisa, you are a happy little girl. You smiled early and often and it lights up our world. We love every minute you have been in our lives. Although it has been a month it feels like we have known you all our lives and beyond. We truly cannot imagine a time when you weren't the centre of our universe.




We love you to the moon and back.
