I am home sick today with a head cold. I hate colds. You are sick enough to feel lousy, but not sick enough to garner any real sympathy and special attention!
I went to work on Monday and instantly regretted it. I sat in Court with a swimming head and weeping eyes, feeling entirely un lawyerish! I managed to make persuasive submissions and pursued the Magistrate. I am of the firm belief he ruled my way by coincidence rather than design!
I was despatched home yesterday evening by a staff supremely concerned with minimizing the spread of this lurgy.
So today I was home. Sick. Not really sick enough to sleep all day, but too sick to go and do anything. Bleegh.
I cleared out the DVR on the weekend and had nothing to watch. Daytime TV being what it is I was bored by noon. Hubs came home for lunch which provided nice diversion.
I did have a nap this afternoon and spent a good bit of time catching up with Anne at Windy Poplars (via my Kindle 99 cent purchase!)
My Google reader was empty (which NEVER happens) and the sick, gormless bleeeghs set in again this afternoon.
Some time mid afternoon I emerged from my cocoon of blankets, monkeys and Anne with a brilliant idea!
Let's clean out the pantry! A simple task. Not a lot of effort required. I could pull it off without Hubs realizing I expended effort.
BIG MISTAKE!
Have you seen my pantry? I am quite sure you can get to Narnia through there.
How does all that stuff get in there? I always do the grocery shopping, alone or with hubs. Who is the one buying all the tinned bean shoots? I don't think I ever bought bean shoots, let alone 5 tins!
There is quite literally 1.5 kilos of raw sugar in my pantry. At one teaspoon per coffee each morning we should get through that by 2027!
Need oats? Stop by my place and bring your horse!
Memo to Campbells - if you are looking for all your stock, check my pantry!
We have not even began to examine the expired and out of date food. I shudder to acknowledge that some of those dates ended in 09.......
A whole garbage bag later, I was done!
My pantry is now a thing of beauty. Please don't touch anything in there.
I wonder if Hubs will notice?
